With the news that Lucas Duda is suffering from an injury to his side and possibly facing time on the DL, Ike Davis may be recalled from Triple-A. Adam Rubin tweeted earlier today that Sandy Alderson has been in Las Vegas to see how Davis has progressed.

It seems a little soon to recall Davis, and the team may be better off playing Murphy at first base and have Valdespin at second base or call-up hot hitting Wilmer Flores. Let Ike Davis continue to work out the kinks in Triple-A for now.

Ike Davis homered twice again last night for Las Vegas. There is still no timetable for his return to Flushing, but he is headed in the right direction. Here are his up to date stats:
June 21, 2013
Ike Davis cranked two homeruns in last night’s win for Las Vegas.
The lefty has played in 10 games at Triple-A and is now batting .306 with four doubles and two homers. His OBP is an outstanding .457, but he still is striking out too much — in 10 games he has nine strikeouts.
The numbers have shown some improvement, but until he gets his strikeouts under control, the numbers could simply be a reflection of playing in hitters’ environments.
